Elanora Heights
Description – Interior Design & Styling Project
Our Brief
Our client purchased a large 3 storey family home in Elanora Heights. Our design services were engaged to update the finishes throughout, including a new colour palette, carpet and spotted gum flooring. We redesigned and renovated four bathrooms, with a different style for each.
The existing kitchen was too small, especially for the size of the home, by re-jigging the floor plan and removing a few walls, we created a large open kitchen and spacious butler’s pantry.
We then moved on to a second stage of the project, where we re-designed the bottom level of the home to create a luxury guest retreat and entertaining area spilling out to an alfresco dining and jacuzzi which had spectacular views over the ocean.
The brief for this area was to draw inspiration from the One & Only Wolgan Valley Estate, with the scope for a new media room, fireplace, kitchenette/ bar, guest quarters, wine cellar and billiard room as well as a large bathroom and laundry.
This lower level was stripped back to its bare bones giving us a blank canvas of four external walls. We selected a palette of natural materials and finishes such as ‘rough sawn’ Australian sandstone capping for the walls, timber ‘shiplap’ panelled ceilings, reclaimed Australian hardwood timber columns and joinery for the cellar.
A glass splash back to the kitchenette was designed to create a visual connection between the cellar and the entertaining space. Our clients and their guests have enjoyed many social events in this space! Being fully self-contained it has allowed their family to stay on extended visits too.
